Step 2.5?

Well It has been a considerable amount of time since my last blog. Since then, we have finished up most of our house projects which took tons of our time and a significant amount of $$!! We have also started a business (same thing with the time and $$), and we got pregnant (I suppose this will also be way more time and way more $$)

So besides spending time and money we have been sleeping (mostly me and the baby) and working - so you didn't miss anything exciting. We have decided to put off selling the house until after the baby comes. We are going to have a home birth and thus decided that we should have...a home for that part.

We had a great Christmas - we had it here at our beautifully remodeled home! There was space for eveyone - so exciting and I think everyone had a pretty good time. We had our big family Christmas about 50 some people and we had our regular family Christmas.

We are having a boy (Baby J) this made Chad very excited as am I. We are going to do Aliens/Space in the nursery and the colors are B.R.I.G.H.T.!! Hopefully there will be no color seizures.

So for now - rest, nursery, new business, continue our old business and I suppose chores like cleaning the toilets. We are working on baby J's quilt so I will put some pictures up of that when we get done. Of course he will have lots of blankets/quilts - just so he knows which family he belongs in - The Blanket Family. Especially now that my mom has started quilting with some of her sisters/nieces now there are a bunch more quilting fiends...my mom is going to have everyone quilting and knitting before she dies - I think that is her plan to take over the world!

My appologies for the ramble-ness of this blog my thoughts may be more cohesive next time.

Proceed to Step Two!

So today is my second day of not working. I loved both days so far. I have about a million house projects to do before we can sell. I am also in desperate need of a building so I can move to step three...opening my daycare!!!

I am about 98 1/2% done with the bathroom. I have three roofers coming tomorrow for bids. The guy who might install our bathroom floor is coming tonight to take a look. The carpet guy should be here to take final measurements tomorrow around 3:00! Yeah for getting a ton done - or at least feeling like I did.

I also finished up my health policies, and my biting procedures. Now I just need a building then come inspections. I also started some lesson plans and menus today. Apparently before you can get a license you have to prove that you will feed the kids at least 6 mo in advance.

Who knows what you will be eating in 6 mo - I might not even live that long.!!!

Anyway - I am going to cook a super wife point scoring dinner tonight - my hubby will love it - I love being home!!

Keeping Facial Flesh is Always a Good Thing

We are still moving forward - we are about 80%-ish done with house projects. We are hopefully still a go to list our house the 1st part of May.

We have yet to hear from the realtor for the daycare building - so we are sort of in "wait mode" for that. But we are in the process of logo design and paper gathering/sorting. And...we did get a few more items for outside play as well as some chairs and a fun dress-up center for a super awesome price.

Miraculously, we get rid of/re-re-re-adopt one of our dogs. Now we just have the dog that we both love.

Max and Holly are in the hospital right now - so tomorrow hopefully we will have a new baby!!

Ohh we have found land we really like, however we are unsure as to if that is really how much we want to spend and if that is really the best amount of land.

So all in all we are proceeding. Chad loves his job, I am going to love mine, we both really like our dog, we are making steps to be once again in a stable long term living situation where saving that one box from Costco will be unimportant, and maybe soon we will have some baby news...who knows.

Sigh...although we are moving forward I feel like forward faster would be better - but sometimes I suppose that the crash and burn technique...is...less painful when you are not moving as quickly.

So...anyway...here is to having all our flesh and not bleeding when we are done with this journey.

A New Dining Set Makes My House Seem Better and More Grown-up

Good Evening Viewers! No more K-mart / yard sale tables for me!

Today did not go as smoothly as I had planned. We certainly did not get as much done as I had hoped. However, I do have a NEW beautiful china hutch AND!!! a new dining room table - that match!!!

MY NEW TABLE & CHAIRS

MY NEW HUTCH

So although a little hectic - and I have a sick hubby - and I planned way too much and got only one thing done - it was still a success.

Speaking of success - Chad is now employed!! His first day is Monday - so tomorrow we will go get him some new shirts and I suppose a lunch box/bag/pail - something very man-like I am sure.

Also I got Chad a "yay! I am so happy you got a job I am much less stressed now and looking forwarding to quitting and getting pregnant in the near future" present. Which I shall give to him on Monday.

We also took a family picture - it turned out so/so... Plus we are missing Spencer! Poo!

Here is a cropped one of just Chad and Me...

Yeah for Saturdays - but even more yeah for Sundays - b/c we don't generally work on Sunday.

Have a nice Sunday everyone!!

One Step Forward, Down the Stairs and to the Right

Why is it that as soon as you go forward then almost immediately there comes along some event that puts you back - or sideways - or just not where you though you should be. Admittedly this does end up working out better than where you we were going but all of a sudden are not anymore. But it should be mentioned that it still sucks!

Speaking of such an event...Chad had an interview Monday that he feels went pretty well. Yeah smart and handsome accountant husband of mine! However, on his way home he drove by our rental and it was vacant. Odd because Wednesday we had tenants with another years lease. So...anyone need 900-some square feet of commercial space that has just become available??

On another note, I feel like such a huge nerd because my new Levenger notebook has been shipped and will soon be in my very own hands. It even comes with colored tabs AND graph paper!! I am literally shivering with excitement.

We had Max and Holly's baby shower Sunday and I think it went pretty well. Ashamedly, I did fall down the stairs and hurt my foot (which is always getting hurt) right before everyone came and had to have my mom and KT do the rest of the set-up. I will gather some pictures and post them on this my blog - since I am making the effort of being a blogger.

Thanks for playing crowd - are you supposed to sign off on these. I'm Brent Blockhard, wishing you a good evening.

Wishful Thinking / Thankfulness

I wish I had showered this morning
I wish I was a blogger and photographer like KT

I wish I didn't have cats
I wish I had firewood this morning
I wish I liked baby showers
I wish I was running my own business
I wish I was pregnant - soon muhaha soon

I am thankful for my Mr. Greif
I am thankful for tea
I am thankful for my family and friends
I am thankful for learning to be patient - well maybe a little
I am thankful that things change - mostly towards the better
I am thankful-ish for the time being to try to be content and work towards later
I am thankful that it is almost later - sigh

Thanks for participating in this blog
